This textile wastewater reuse project in Fujian has a stated treatment capacity of 3,000 tonnes per day. It uses effluent from the wastewater treatment station as feed water for an ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis process.
The treated water is intended for reuse in the factory workshop, reducing the demand for fresh water and the volume of wastewater discharged. The stated total system recovery is greater than 75%; actual recovery and treated-water quality depend on feed characteristics and operating conditions.
The membrane-based approach can also be considered for other industrial reuse applications, including printing and dyeing, electroplating and surface treatment, subject to assessment of each wastewater stream.
